Three year warranty*
All Volkswagen Crafters come with a three-year unlimited mileage warranty, which protects your vehicle against the failure of most mechanical and electrical components due to manufacturing defects. This comprises a two-year unlimited mileage warranty with a further one-year unlimited mileage Van Centre warranty.
All other Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles come with a three-year 100,000 mile warranty. This includes a two-year manufacturers warranty with unlimited mileage plus a further one-year/100,000 (whichever comes first) Van Centre warranty. Should the mileage exceed 100,000 miles within the first two years, the manufacturer’s two-year warranty will still be valid. If an additional warranty for subsequent years is desired it may be purchased from an authorised Volkswagen Van Centre or Van Service Centre; however, this additional warranty must be purchased before the mileage reaches 100,000.
Should a defect in manufacture or workmanship occur on your Volkswagen, despite careful treatment and maintenance as specified in the Service Schedule Book and Owner's Instruction Manual, any authorised Volkswagen Van Centre in the United Kingdom will rectify such defects without charge during the warranty period, even if you did not purchase the vehicle from that authorised Van Centre.
The warranty does not cover damage or defects due to:
- Repairs by a workshop not authorised by Volkswagen.
- Installation of parts not approved by Volkswagen.
- Failure by the customer to comply with the operating instructions in the Owner's Instruction Manual, Service Schedule Book or any other literature supplied by the manufacturer or a Van Centre from time to time.
- Special fittings, conversions or additional bodywork.
Normal wear and tear on non-durable parts such as brakes and clutch linings is not covered by the warranty. The same applies to damage caused by improper handling or misuse (as in motorsport, for example).
Three-year Paint warranty*
The paintwork of all vehicles is covered against manufacturing defects for a period of three years. Naturally, the vehicle must be cared for in compliance with the operating instructions which will be found in your owner’s handbook.
12-year Body Protection warranty*
The internal body sections and panels of all vehicles are covered against rusting through from the inside for 12 years. Naturally, the vehicle must be cared for in compliance with the operating instructions.
