VW Van Centre:
New Director for Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles.
Simon Elliott has been appointed Director of Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles in the UK, taking over the role formerly held by Robert Hazelwood who moved within the Volkswagen Group earlier this year to become Director of Škoda UK.
Elliott joins Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles from his most recent position as Managing Director of Chrysler UK. Prior to this, Simon was President and CEO of Chrysler's China operations. Simon started his career at Volkswagen in vehicle logistics and sales before being promoted to a variety of sales and marketing roles. His career also includes a succession of positions within Toyota Lexus GB, including Dealer Development Manager, Regional General Manager and Director of Fleet Operations, before becoming Sales Director of Toyota Lexus Belgium SA.
He joins a successful team at Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, which achieved its eighth consecutive year of growth last year with record UK sales of 30,427. The development of the brand continued this year with the launch of a new range of panel vans and passenger carriers – the Caddy Maxi and Caddy Maxi Life.
