Only the biggest stage will do when unveiling a new Volkswagen camper. That’s why we showcased the California 6.1 range at the Camping, Caravan and Motorhome Show, the largest indoor show for camping and adventure equipment in UK. Read on and discover for yourself the exciting features on display.
Say hello to the California 6.1
As part of the show this year, we gave attendees a closer look at the California 6.1. Sixty years after we debuted our first camper van, the California 6.1 is our most comfortable and connected yet. Based on the upgraded Transporter 6.1, it adds a comfortable living area to the new technology and stylish dashboard for more comfort on the road, as well as introducing the new Coast trim.
The California 6.1’s elevated roof is simple to set up and provides enough space for two people to sleep in addition to the folding double bed downstairs. The fully-fitted kitchen makes preparing delicious meals on your travels a pleasure. We also demonstrated its new connectivity features, including the 10.25” digital cockpit to keep you entertained and informed behind the wheel, and the innovative camper control panel.

A grand adventure
Also on display was the Volkswagen Grand California 680. Visitors were able to discover for themselves the spacious interior which can comfortably sleep two adults on extended touring trips. It even features its own separate wet room with a toilet, shower and basin, alongside the full suite of driver assistance systems, including City Emergency Braking and Crosswind Assist. If you take the whole family on the road, the Grand California 600's roof bed lets little ones sleep upstairs.
